Dr. Joe De Carlo graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pennsylvania Chiropractic College in 1987 and has been providing quality chiropractic care for the past 23 years. He has been practicing in the Newtown area for approximately 13 years. He was the Sports Chiropractor for Temple University athletics from 1996 to 2003, working closely with athletic directors, orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, coaches, and athletes for all teams at the University. He is currently on the sports medicine team at both Council Rock North and South High schools, working closely with the head athletic trainers at both schools. 
  
    Dr. Joe specializes in the treatment of athletic injuries, such as joint sprains, muscle pulls, and overuse syndromes that occur quite often with athletes involved in year-round training. These injuries may involve spinal regions such as the neck and low back, or extremity regions that may include the shoulder, knee, or foot. Dr. Joe has extensive experience in treating rotator cuff syndromes, shin splints, hamstring strain/tears, hip injuries, and other common injury syndromes that athletes contend with often. He has also been very successful in the treatment of both migraine headaches and TMJ conditions.  
    
    Dr. De Carlo utilizes ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE daily in his practice to resolve shortened, thickened, tight, and inflexible soft tissues. 
This technique quickly targets myofascial adhesion/scar tissue that limits range of motion, strength, and overall success in performance.  Active Release Technique is also excellent for resolving entrapment syndromes such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, and sciatica as well as post surgical scarring.  
   
    Our practice is family owned and operated, and Wendy, Dr. De Carlo's wife, would be happy to assist you with your insurance questions and billing needs, as well as the scheduling of your appointments. We participate with and accept most health insurance plans, including Personal Choice, United HealthCare, CIGNA, Keystone Health Plan East, out of state Blue Cross/Blue Shield Plans, Horizon NJ, Aetna (out of network), Workman's Compensation, and personal injury cases (automobile accidents and slip and falls). Our practice is atypical in that we strive to treat patients in a timely manner so that they can quickly return to their daily activities of living and exercise.
